Tibet tour

Enqiury

TRIP DETAILS:

The tour departs from Kathmandu  twice or thrice a month. This is the only budget tour we organize from Kathmandu for individual travelers with a need for low cost, but the desire for simple, quality service.

En route to Lhasa, the group will pass through a few of Tibet’s most significant natural and cultural landmarks:

  • Lao Tingri village. With clear weather, this location provides travelers a glimpse of Mt. Everest.
  • Shigatse. Tibet’s second largest city and home to the throne of Panchen Lama.
  • Gyantse. The ancient trading hub of Tibet, where the East and West converged in a bustling ancient metropolis.
  • Kamba-La glacier.
  • Yam Druk Tso. The largest fresh water lake in Tibet, named Turquoise Lake for its crystalline waters and heartbreakingly beautiful scenery.

The tour also incorporates a two-day cultural excursion in Lhasa. During these two days, the group will visit the Potala Palace (the residence of Dalai Lama), the Norbulinkha Palace (the summer residence of Dalai Lama), Jokhang temple & Barkhor Square, Sera Monastery and Drepung Monastery.

On the last day ( Day 8 )the group will be escorted to the Gonggar Airport for flights out of Lhasa (either to Kathmandu OR to any other city of mainland China). Alternatively, it is possible to ride the world famous train over the Roof of the World. From Lhasa, the train reaches Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Xining etc.

Travelers with unique or specialized agendas can easily participate in this tour due to the flexibility of arrival and departure locations. It is possible to head to mainland China after finishing the tour in Lhasa, fly back to Kathmandu or any other destination in the world! We make one group permit for all members, but different group visas, so once the individual finishes the tour in Lhasa, they can simply separate with others and travel freely as they desire.
